Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had as fantastic a holiday season as we did! Conway and I took a trip to the Big Easy for some redfishing and New Years Eve partying in the French Quarter!

We head to New Orleans every January to catch redfish on the fly with our good friend Captain Gregg Arnold. Conway has caught many HUGE (and one world record) redfish in "The Land of Giants"...the area out of Hopedale, Louisiana where Gregg takes us to fish.

Oh, here's one as we land...this is sort of what the areas look like where we fish...flats with small islands of grass...

We land in New Orleans with warm air temps, a bit of thick southern humidity and partly cloudy skies. Ideally, sight casting for redfish is done with windless, cloudless skies and full sunlight. Hmmmmmmm...
