What to Bring…

We provide all tackle including conventional, spinning and fly tackle from Scott, Nautilus, Okuma, St. Croix, and Scientific Anglers.

Things To Bring to be prepared for all weather situations
  • Light rain gear
  • Hat
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Polar fleece jacket
  • Running or deck shoes (no sandals)
  • Seasick pills or patch (we recommend the Scopalamine patch)
  • Shorts/pants
Fly Fishing Equipment

Offshore:
  • 9' 10wt Rod
  • Disc drag reel w/ 300 yards of 30lb backing
  • Fly Lines
    • Mono core or intermediate
    • Teeney or similar type shooting head lines
      • 350 grns
      • 450 grns
      • 650 grns
Bay and Surf
  • 9' 6-7wt Rod
  • Light disc drag reel w/ 150 yards of 20lb backing
  • Fly Lines
    • Mono core or intermediate
    • Teeney or similar type shooting head lines, type III sinking
Leaders

Offshore:
  • 10 to 20 lb class tippet material (Mason, Rio, etc.)
  • Note: Leaders do not have to be over 5ft for this type of fishing
Bay and Surf:
  • 4 to 12 lb class tippet material (Mason, Rio, etc.)
  • Note: Leaders do not have to be over 5ft for this type of fishing

Flies

Offshore:
A good selection of Clouser Minnows and Deceivers in sizes 2 through 2/0 will cover most situations. The colors that work best are Green/White, Chartuse/White, and Blue/White. For sharks, specialized flies will be provided

Bay and Surf:
A good starting point is a selection of Clouser Minnows and Deceivers similar to the offshore flies mentioned above, but smaller (2.5 - 3.5"). Add in some brown and red color combinations to simulate crabs and other crustaceans, in sizes 6 - 2.
